Morris County Sheriff’s Office honors officers, staff at annual awards ceremony

RANDOLPH TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Morris County Sheriff James M. Gannon last week presided over the Morris County Sheriff’s Office annual Awards Ceremony, recognizing the outstanding contributions of officers and staff from the Bureau of Corrections and Bureau of Law Enforcement. The event took place at the County College of Morris in the Dragonetti Auditorium.

Award recipients were honored for their exceptional duty, honorable service, lifesaving actions, and various promotions. Notably, awards were presented to both sworn and medical staff at the correctional facility for their exemplary efforts in the successful integration of Somerset County inmates.

This significant operation, involving the transfer of approximately 100 inmates, was executed without complications, thanks to thorough preparation and the effective implementation of the integration plan.

Officers from the Bureau of Law Enforcement were also acknowledged for their crucial role in safely concluding an investigation involving an individual with weapons.

In his remarks, Sheriff Gannon emphasized the importance of recognizing the diverse accomplishments within both Bureaus, stating, “No one recognition is more important than any other. All efforts highlighted today have had some impact on the quality of life in Morris County and beyond. That impact is unique and measurable only by the individuals whose lives have been affected by the fantastic personnel of the Morris County Sheriff’s Office. I am proud to highlight these great efforts over the past year.”

“Congratulations to all, thank you on behalf of the people of Morris County, and keep up the good work,” Gannon said.
