Driver faces drug charges following traffic stop in Morris County

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A driver is facing drug charges following a traffic stop last week in Washington Township.

On Wednesday, April 23, at approximately 12:53 a.m., an officer patrolling Route 46 stopped a vehicle for speeding, police said.

The driver, identified only as a 31-year-old Hackettstown resident, was found to be in possession of prescription medications that were not prescribed to them, as well as drug paraphernalia, police said.

The individual was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were also issued a summons for speeding. The individual was released pending a court appearance, police said.
