Mother charged after 6-month-old dies from being left in hot car in Morris County
EAST HANOVER TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A mother was charged after her 6-month-old daughter died last month from being left in a hot car in East Hanover Township, according to Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll.
On July 17, at around 1:30 p.m., police responded to a parking lot in the area of South Ridgedale Avenue on Route 10 for a 911 call of a pediatric patient in a parked vehicle, Carroll said.
Paramedics attempted to render lifesaving aid to a six-month-old female infant and she was subsequently pronounced dead at the hospital, Carroll said.
The investigation revealed that the infant was left unattended in the vehicle for approximately four and a half hours, Carroll said.
Livia Patelli, 33, of Roseland, the infant’s mother, has been charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child. She was detained at the Morris County Correctional Facility pursuant to Criminal Justice Reform, but was subsequently released following her First Appearance Hearing held on Aug. 1, Carroll said..
